How do i find the weight on my travel trailer and how much weight my suv can pull....can SUV's pull travel trailers? I know some small cars can pull smaller travel trailers and this one isn't too big, so was wondering if my SUV could handle it?Can my ford explorer SUV pull my 26 foot travel trailer?
Your trailer will have a Gross Vehicle Weight Specified on the vehicle information label located either on the frame or on the body of the trailer.

Compare that weight listed with the Towed Vehicle Weight rating as listed in the vehicle's owners manual to determine if the tow vehicle is capable of pulling the trailer you intend to tow.

By the way the listed limits are far exceeding the practical ones and you should select a tow vehicle rated at around 125% of the weight you intend to tow routinely. Can my ford explorer SUV pull my 26 foot travel trailer?
The gvw or gross vehicle on the trailer should be located by the coupler on a small label or plate. The towing capacity will be in your owners manual and the towing capacity of the hitch itself should be on a label on the hitch. Make sure that the weight of the trailer does not exceed the weight on either of the places on the tow vehicle and you should be fine. Can my ford explorer SUV pull my 26 foot travel trailer?
If you have a v8, the answer is probably yes. If you have a v6 the answer is definitely not. The 4.6 liter engine isn't big on horsepower, but it's rated at 6500 lbs. If your hitch is on your bumper, you may want to upgrade to a frame mounted hitch.
