Is it safe to buy old traveling trailers?

I've been looking for traveling trailers to travel across the united states because I simply have nothing better to do... so I've seen some traveling trailers for cheap, but they were from 1986. I know it's not safe to buy a vehicle that is over 20 years old, but traveling trailers do not drive. I was wondering about the wheels, would they be able to take a trip across the united states?|||The older ones are plain and simple JUNK and you need to stay away from them because I have worked on many of them and about 9 out of 10 you cannot find many parts for them...............|||Sure, if everything checks out OK.

Their suspensions and axles are very simple. Replace or repack the wheel bearings, inspect the suspension and everything with it, repair the electric brakes. Not hard to do or very complex.

Of course you want to make sure the rest of the trailer is in good condition, too.

Sounds like a fun trip. Have a good time out there.|||Yeah I did this fine with my trailer - it was pretty old but it shouldn't be a problem.
